BFFs

These two have become the best of buds. More often than not you can find them together playing some kind of make-believe game or cuddled up watching a movie or laughing...or crying together. They have come up with funny words that only the two of them know, they watch out for each other and genuinely care about each other. It makes a mom happy and that much more excited to add another one to the mix!!

The Kite Festival

Every year St. George and a few local businesses put on a kite festival. It's to help encourage kids to read and if they bring a paper with recorded reading minutes on it then get a kite. Of course Kylie was all over that. She had been dying to go and was super excited when the day finally came. The sad part was it was an EXTREMEMLY hot day (or so it seemed) and there was zero wind! We did our best to enjoy ourselves with bounce houses, kiddie games and the best part, snow-cones in the shade.

The bounce houses and slides were really hot! Kylie is trying her best not to touch the actual slide as she went down and Jase wouldn't even attempt them. He would get in and immediately want out.

Kylie got brave and tried the loop-da-loop ride. She liked it for the first several turns, but then started to slip out of her belt and started panicking so they let her off early.  She wouldn't even talk about the ride after that.
She also loved the chance to ride a school bus for the very first time. I am sure you can tell just by looking at her face just how hot it was.  We were worn out, but it was a fun and the kids really enjoyed it.

Jeremy Celebrates in His Birthday Suit

This little guy is

32 years old! Happy Birthday to Jeremy!! I thought it would only be appropriate that he celebrates in his birthday suit, but I thought his 1 year old birthday suit would probably be best!!

The Hula Hoop Mastered

Kylie has had her eye on a hula hoop for as long as I can remember. Every time we go to the store and pass one she can't help, but pick it up and try it out. She was always about as good as anyone expected. She wold maybe get a turn or so and that was about it.
Well, she was definitely more than thrilled to see that the Easter bunny brought her one and she immediately got to practicing. I think we were all shocked including her to see that she had it mastered in about an hours time.  Now it's all she does! I have caught her doing it while she watches TV, while she was reading a book and even while trying to balance things on her head. The funniest thing she has tried to do, but just can't get the hang of is walking while doing it. Her attempt was the funnest thing I have seen in a long time though.
Personally, I think this is a pretty cool talent. Something I have never been able to do and something she's pretty proud of! (and more than willing to show off to anyone who may or may not want to see it)

Easter Weekend

We had a busy easter weekend full of egg hunts, parties, a family get together, easter egg dying, jelly beans and the easter bunny.

Kylie had Friday off from school so we spent some of the day coloring easter eggs. They LOVE doing this. To them there is something magical about coloring eggs and it gets funner and funner every year. This year we dyed them with Kool-aid, which was super easy and smelled really good. I wish I would have boiled more eggs because we weren't even close to being finished when we ran out of eggs.

Friday night was the start of our Easter Egg Hunt Marathon. The first one was with all the kids in our neighborhood, which has definitely grown over the last little while! We certainly don't lack in the kid department and it makes things like this really fun for everyone.

They know exactly what to do and came away with plenty of the goods.

Saturday morning came early with the anticipation of what the Easter Bunny brought. The kids made off pretty good and seemed to be happy with their loot.

Kylie was most excited about her new "high heels" and her hula hoop. She's been dying for high heels for a really long time and it only took her a matter of a few tries to master that hula hoop.  Jase has been on a Toy Story kick lately and currently Buzz is his favorite charater. He was also pretty thrilled with his green scooter too.

A little while later we headed to a Primary party at the Beehive home. This is where Easter Egg Hunt # 2 took place along with other games and activities. Kylie seemed to enjoy what was going on more than Jase. He mostly just hung out next to me while Kylie played the games. They both loved the hunt though and Kylie couldn't believe she actually found a real egg.

Later that afternoon the Felix family came down and spent some time with us. We had a great time hiking,
and Grandma and Grandpa Felix treated us to a few rides on the carousel we have downtown. The kids had a blast.  We then came back to our house for a BBQ
and Easter Egg Hunt #3. Kylie and Jase can't get enough of their cousins. They absolutely love when we have the chance to see them. Spending the afternoon and evening with them made for a really great time.

Sunday was a chance for us to reflect on our Savior and the blessing of knowing the sacrifice made in our behalf. I had the chance to teach the Easter lesson in Young Women's and although I am not sure I was really able to express exactly how I feel about the Atonement and Resurrection to those girls I sure am so grateful for the chance to really study and reflect on it these last few weeks.

I am so grateful for my amazing little family!! I love them more than anything in the world and I am so blessed they are mine. I love weekends like these full of memories and good times and a chance to really focus on the improtant things in life.

Major Milestone

Today is a big day! I've had this day in the back of my mind ever since I heard the words, "Congratulations, you're pregnant again!" come out of my doctors mouth. Today I am exactly 30 weeks and 1 day pregnant which is the very day my water broke with Jase.  At 4:47 am to be exact. The rarity of it happening again is absolutely slim to none and I have known that the whole time, but it's still something that has lingered with me.  Yesterday was a weird day as I anticipated today coming. I didn't do anything to prepare if it were to happen neccessarily, but I've been anxious to get past it.  I probably woke about a million times last night to look at the clock to see what time it was...because you know, if it is going to happen, it's going to happen on the exact same day at the exact same time!! (not likely)But somehow I was slightly relieved when I looked over and the clock said 5:30.

I really don't have much to complain about when it comes to being pregnant. I go to the doctor about every other week to ensure everything it going well. There is nothing they can really check to predict if my water will break early again, but they have been keeping a close eye on my cervical length to make sure I wasn't dilating or anything. If everything still looks good at about 32-33 weeks then my doctor says I turn into a "regular patient instead of a special one" until delivery when things get a little bit more complicated with a VBAC.

Lucky for me I get an ultrasound every time I go which of course, I love. She has yet to give us a really good face shot though. Every time she has been head down with her face smashed against the placenta.

At my 26 weeks appointment we did manage to get this shot of her profile with her fingers in her mouth.  So far it's my favorite picture we have of her.

We still haven't quite settled on a name yet. We've got a few that we really like, but nothing we have committed to. I don't know what it will take to decide. Maybe we'll have to wait until we see her.  I am anxious to get her nursery ready and to go through Kylie's things to see if any of it's usable.

Apparently I have really started to show. Yesterday at church I had several people who I guess didn't realize I was pregnant come up to me and say something. I must carry her pretty high because most can't believe I only have 10 weeks to go. I of course don't feel that way at all and even though I haven't had to break out the maternity clothes yet I can only imagine what these last weeks will bring. If I'm anything like I was with Kylie, I'll certainly make up for any non-showing time.

With about 10 weeks left I am getting pretty excited. Kylie and Jase talk about her constantly and I think they are pretty excited for her to get here too. Jase came with me to my last appointment and on the way there I was telling him we would get to see our baby sister. In his little three year old head he assumed we were going to visit her. He was a little bit disappointed when all he saw of her was on a ultrasound screen. He thought the heartbeat was cool, but his very favorite part was the sucker at the end.

I couldn't be more grateful that everything is going as smooth as it is. As much as I would love to have her here already I think I would rather spend these last weeks pregnant than in the NICU. I just hope they go by quickly!!

9 Years Ago Today

We were young (and skinny), but thankfully very smart...at least I was. I found myself a hardworking, funny, spiritual, kind, loving, patient, understanding, laid back guy that I wasn't going to let go. And he's proved to be much more than all that these past nine years and I couldn't be more grateful! Happy Anniversary to us!!!

Spring Break Part 2

Jeremy and I spent the last few days of Spring Break in what is suppose to be sunny San Diego with my sister Ashley, her husband David and my parents. I'm not sure we saw a drop of sun, but that certainly didn't keep us from having a great time!! It actually took the pressure off of making sure we crammed everything in we could and we just kind of took each day as they came.  We started the vacay with a bang and my dad treated us to a Segway tour of the city. It was an absolute BLAST!! To be fair the tour company strongly advised against my sister and I riding them because we are pregnant, and we both thought long and hard about it for about 2 seconds and then jumped on them, got familiar with it and we were off!! They took extra precautions with us and actually brought along an extra tour guide to ensure our safety, which we really appreciated. I think my mom may have been the most nervous of all of us  and it probably made her more nervous that we weren't nervous at all once we got the hang of it.

The tour was about 2 1/2 hours long and we learned quite a bit of interesting things about the city. A lot of the fun of it was passing people on the streets and them getting a kick out of us. I'm sure they were jealous! :)

After we sadly got off our Segways we headed over to Coronado Island to check out the haunted hotel and the Island. I don't know what it was, but I loved the neighborhoods on that island. Our tour guide told us that the homes were millions of dollars and the lots were tiny. We walked down by the beach and ran in to a guy who builds amazing sand castles. He had a couple of them built up and they were super cool.

Later that afternoon we went to a really fun appointment with my sister. I had talked her into scheduling a 3D ultrasound to find out what the gender of her baby was. We were all really excited about it and it was a super fun way to celebrate her birthday.

She found a place that had a floor to ceiling theater screen and stage seating for us all the sit on. We had a blast watching that little baby BOY move around like a crazy kid. At the very end he turned towards us and flashed us what looked like the biggest smile we have ever seen. We about died and certainly feel in love with that little guy right then and there. We're very excited to meet him at the end of August. We of course found ourselves an outlet mall later that night and got him started on his wardrobe.

Saturday was definitely when the rain came out full force! We spent the morning in the San Diego Temple doing sealing and then had a nice man give us a little tour. There is no denying how beautiful that temple is on the inside and out.

The rest of that day we tried our best to find things to do that didn't require being outside. It's a little bit tough in a place like this so we took a bit of a break and went to a movie. Then we headed to Old Town to visit and Mormon Battalion Museum, which was really neat and then to a mexican dinner complete with a serenade and delicious food. We finished the night by walking the streets, visiting the shops and buying a few souvenirs.

We were sad to see our trip come to an end! My dad was a great navigator and always had a good plan of what to do. This is only the third time Jeremy and I have had a chance to get away without the kids and it was very much enjoyed. They spent the weekend with Jeremy's sister and her family and we couldn't be more grateful to them for taking them for us. We know they were in great hands and didn't worry about them for a second.

Hopefully we have a chance to do something like this again sooner rather than later. Jeremy is a crazy working man and it something seems we only see each other in passing as we go about our various responsibilities. Weekends like this are very much needed and I am grateful for the chance we had to go!
