On Saturday morning we had a neighborhood Easter egg hunt at the park. Each of the kids walked away with 15 eggs full of goods. Kylie stopped mid hunt just to make sure there really was something good in them. Jase and a few of the other 2 year olds got a two minute head start, but I'm not sure he needed it! He knew exactly what was up and held his own against those big kids. We have a great neighborhood full of really fun friends.
Between Easter egg hunts, outdoor projects and everything else going on we did managed to get some egg dying in. We didn't get extremely creative with our decorating, the best we got was our names each written on one.
Usually the Easter bunny visits us on Saturday mornings, but this year (s)he just wasn't quite on top of his(her) game I guess and so (s)he came on Sunday. Instead of our usual scripture study on Saturday night we had a little discussion on the the true meaning of Easter and the sacrifice our Savior made on our behalf and the blessings of the resurrection. We are so blessed and I am so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ.
Sunday morning we enjoyed an Easter egg hunt and the few things the kids got in their baskets. Before we went down to see what was brought we reminded them that the Easter bunny isn't quite like Santa, but they didn't seem too disappointed.
We have a very fun easter bunny that took his egg hiding very seriously. It took us a little while, but we found them all and had full baskets when we were done.
They had over flowing baskets, but the biggest hit seemed to be the velcro catcher mitt game (I am sure that's the technical name for it!!) They each took turns playing it for quite awhile with Jeremy. They were pretty good at it with him, but when they tried playing it with each other it was a whole other story. They were pretty funny to watch!
Easter isn't complete without a new church outfit and a picture. To get these two both looking at the camera and smiling at the same time is impossible!! This was the best we could get with "the sun blazing in their eyes" as Kylie pointed out.
After church we spent the evening up in Cedar with Jeremy's family. We had a nice dinner and visit while the kid played with their cousins. It was a fun weekend and I am grateful for the memories we made together.
