As If One Isn't Enough

She had to watch two at the same time!

Kylie was watching a movie on the portable DVD player, but insisted on having the TV turned to her favorite cartoons so she "could watch back and forth and not miss ANYTHING." (she really did say that and she emphasized the anything part!)  Really what else is there to do on a cold rainy day?

Laughter

Our tough week turned into a long weekend. Jase quickly got over his Pneumonia, but I am pretty sure he is now cutting teeth. Kylie and I caught Jase's stomach bug and haven't felt good for the past couple days. Jase hasn't slept well causing nobody else not to sleep well and we are all just a bit on edge. Last night though Heavenly Father granted Jeremy and I a much needed tender mercy that caused us to stop in our tracks and just watch and listen as we caught our two kids crawling around the kitchen floor chasing, playing and laughing with each other. Oh, the laughter! Jase isn't a laughy kid. Kylie wasn't either when she was  little. Something about my babies they're not giggly when they are young and it takes a lot of effort to get them to laugh. We couldn't help, but to be so grateful to hear them happy and watch them play. I, of course ran to grab my camera and for a split second panicked because I remembered the battery was dead, but in an instant I was grateful because instead of worrying about getting that perfect picture to capture the moment I could just relax and enjoy! We needed that moment of joy and I am grateful for these little moments that remind us to be happy and enjoy this journey!

This Poor Little Guy

has PNEUMONIA!

It's been a rough few days at our house. I finally took him into the doctor today after days of throwing everything up, diarrhea, coughing and then a fever. The doctor seemed more concerned with his breathing being so fast then anything else. After giving him a breathing treatment and it still being quite fast he said it has to be Pneumonia unless proven otherwise. We came home with an antibiotic, Jeremy and our friend Curtis gave him a blessing and now we are just waiting for those two things to kick in. If he stays the same or gets worse I need to take him back on Friday and they will try something more aggressive.  I have to admit though I have loved having a very mild, cuddly baby the past few days. I just hate that it's at the expense of him being sick. Lets all cross our fingers he actually sleeps well tonight so the rest of us can get some much needed sleep!! I hate watching my kids be sick especially when I feel like there is nothing I can do, but wait.  As much as I love cuddling with him I sure hate to see him as miserable as he looks in this picture!

Open Wide

I took Kylie to the dentist for the first time today. I tried to get her really excited about last night by telling her the dentist was going to clean your teeth and make them sparkle and shine. She was pretty excited about that. This morning she told me she couldn't wait to get sparkles on her teeth.  She was awesome the whole time. I could hear her from my seat chatting up a storm with the hygienist and then later the dentist when he came in. She loved watching a movie while they cleaned her teeth with "sand" and felt pretty good walking out of there with a new Ariel toothbrush and a bracelet made of teeth. She can't wait until July when she's scheduled to go again!!

Country Livin'

Sometime I feel like we live in the middle of nowhere. We're not extremely far away from town, but I often forget just how long it takes to get somewhere. I am definitely a city girl that likes a variety of shopping and places to go. After deciding  this was where we wanted to build  we would often laugh at the people that were out walking their goats and little boys running around in their underwear.  Quite often people will ride their horses and mules through our neighborhood, we hear the roosters in the morning and tumble weeds will tumble across the road. It's not really what I am used to, but I feel like we have the best of both worlds, a nice quiet neighborhood, but still close to everything we need.

Kylie was thrilled to see these sheep being walked down our street. There were two of them, one that she  insisted was really ornery and "not good," but the other she thought was OK to pet. She did however freak out and I mean freak out any time the sheep dog came anywhere near her!! She is terrified of dogs, but apparently sheep are just fine.

It's Official...

I'm an aunt!! Well, I guess I have been an aunt since I married Jeremy because he has a bunch of nieces and nephews, but I am finally a biological aunt! It's weird to think that because my brothers and sisters have been aunts or uncles for three and a half year...now it's finally my turn!  My brother's wife Erin had a beautiful baby boy on Saturday night after what I imagine was a really long day!  His name is Alexander K. Hansen. I wish I could have been there to see him , but I can't wait to meet him the next time I am in AZ.  Kylie is already worried that he is going to be Jase's friend and not hers. She said to me the other night, "Tell dad to stop telling Jase that Alex is his friend, I want him to be my friend!"  There is plenty of love to go around and we are really excited for them!!

Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam

We were traveling home last weekend so today became Kylie's first day of Primary. I asked what she thought about when we got home and she said, "I looove primary!!" She was, though a little confused as to why there were boys in her "big girl class." I had to explain it was a "big boy" class too. When I went to pick her up she was in there just a chatting away with  her teacher. (Jeremy and I taught Sunbeams a long time ago and some of the stories the kids would tell were so funny and I know their parents would be so embarrassed if they knew what their kids were saying...I am a tad nervous of what secrets Kylie may tell!)  Through the month of December her nursery class has been going in to sharing time to give them a chance to get used to it. She loved when they went in there and is so excited to go every week. I am so grateful she loves it and it's so fun to here her talk about!... By the way, she insisted on throwing her jacket over her shoulder for the picture!

13 Christmas Moments

We just got back from a great vacations. One of those vacations where you wished time would stand still and the week would go on forever. December was a crazy busy month and it was so nice relax for a while and actually have my husband around. Here are a few moments (or days) that made the trip so memorable.

1.Getting away with anything when Grandma is around!!

2.Rock band

3. Hot tubing in the middle of winter...in our clothes because we forgot to bring them. Who thinks about their swimming suits when they are packing for Christmas anyway?

4. Strutting our stuff to church in our new outfits

5. Having Grannie Annie (my grandma and Kylie and Jase's great-grandma) spend the holiday with us and listening to her tell us about her Christmases as a little girl

4. DOUBLE SHOT---Jeremy practiced and practiced and practiced and he finally got good!!

5. Spending time with each other

6.Enjoying the Christmas lights at the Mesa Temple.

7.Enjoying my moms very delicious ham and bean soup...I love that stuff!!

8.Picnicking and feeding the ducks in amazing weather!

9.Picnicking and feeding the ducks at an awesome park that also has mini amusement park rides.

10.Learning that Kylie is a thrill seeker...for a girl who wouldn't even go down a slide at a park sure does love an extremely fast roller coaster ride!! I LOVE the look on her face!

11.Jase is just as content as can be as long as he is being feed something.

12.Bowling is a blast and a favorite amongst the family.

13.Playing at the park in, like I said, amazing weather!! Oh and I think Kylie got over her fear of slides. She was heading face first by the end!

I know that was a massive amount of pictures, but give me a break, people. We were there for 10 days and we had a good time!!
