Picture Overload

We had our family pictures taken last week by my friend/neighbor Kourtney Jackson over at 318photography, and she was fabulous. I love them!! She had a fun location for us and brought her hubby along to be the "baby handler" to try his hand at getting Jase to look at the camera and smile all at the same time. I was pretty sure that was an impossible feat, but was very pleasantly surprised when I saw she had captured some pretty great ones of that busy ball of energy.   Kylie, on the other hand loved every second of it. She would have posed for hours with a huge smile on her face if it was necessary.  Prepare yourself for a major picture overload. My biggest problem now is deciding which ones to put up on my wall!!

Every time Jeremy and I look at this picture we bust up laughing. The look on Jase's face kills us!!

Staheli Farms

It's Fall, which means a trip out to Staheli Farms is a must.  We've been every year since we moved down here and not much has changed, but as the kids get older they seem to enjoy more every time we go.

Kylie ran around from thing to thing sliding down slides into the corn box, swimming on the horse swings and trying her hand at duck racing. We sent Jase down the slides a couple times. He thought they were fun, but would rather grab handfuls of corn and stuff them down the back of his shirt. (He does this with rocks at home. I don't know why, it's one of the many weird little things Jase does) He liked this go around on the train better then his last ride and seemed to get the hang of racing the ducks.

I was excited to see how Jase would react to all the animals. He was totally fascinated by them. As we walked past the chickens, he kept pointing at them and saying, Daddy, daddy!" and then would laugh. He definitely doesn't fear animals like Kylie does. It takes her a minute to warm up to them. She didn't mind the big fat pig, it was the cute little sheep she had to be talked into petting.

Jase took one look at the constant running water at the hand washing station and was in love.  That boy would have been perfectly content playing in that water the rest of the night.

It was dark by the time we make it out to the pumpkin patch. (I would like to blame my camera for the lack of a decent picture, but there is a chance it was my fault) The kids thought running through the field with pretty cool and Kylie found her a perfect pumpkin.

Just before we were getting ready to leave we noticed they were giving horse rides for a dollar.  Kylie caught wind of that and was all over it. I was totally surprised, but she climb right up on that horse and loved every second of that ride. She jumped off and said, "Mom, the horse's name is Princess and I loved riding her!" I have probably heard a hundred times since then how much fun her first time on a horse was.

Just as expected Staheli Farms didn't disappoint and I am sure we'll be back again next year!!

Giddy Up

While my dad was here a last week he played a game with the kids that he played with my brother and I when we were little called the Tickle Monster. One of us would ride on his back while the other would stand against the wall and would to try to run past him to the couch or the opposite wall before he caught us and tickled us. We loved this game and Kylie and Jase loved it too. Now several times since then we have found them playing their own version. Basically Jase rides Kylie like a horse and she tries to buck him off, if he falls off she tickles him.  They get each other laughing pretty hard and it's so funny to watch them play it!!

Slick Rock Park

Jeremy took the kids to a fun newly discovered park on Saturday.  While they were there Kylie was really concerned because he didn't bring the camera with him and she knew this a camera worthy park!  So they took me back to it last night because they knew I would bring it.

And she was right, it was camera worthy. We climbed around and on the wall, walked on the walking trail and played on the little bridge. The kids are both at a fun ages. They're getting more independent and it's not as big of a deal to just load up a go out for awhile. Jase has a tendency to get distracted. It takes him three times as long then to rest of us to get anywhere. He has to stop and look at every bush, rock and tree we walk past.  Kylie's always got a funny song she's singing or some story to tell. She loves dancing around and usually has a trick she wants to show us.  They are both always so full of excitement and energy and they are just plain fun to be around!

He Slept Well

I walked in to find Jase sleeping as peaceful as could be with his head under his pillow. Maybe that morning sun is just way to bright for him.

We've Been Boring

Not too much has gone around here lately, mostly just living everyday normal life. I try to post a couple times a week but I have struggled with "blog worthy" material the last couple days.

Last Sunday was the Kylie's Primary Program at church and she was so excited. She was assigned a part which she practiced and knew flawlessly and also listened to her primary music at night so she would know the songs. She sat up on the stand as reverently as a 4 year old can until the fire alarm was pulled during the sacrament. After about 5 minutes of constant sirens she bursted into tears and Jeremy took her outside until they were turned off.  When it was her turn she said her part clearly and perfectly with a huge smile on her face.  She also absolutely loved that Grandma and Grandpa Felix would come down and watch her.

On Wednesday Kylie's school learned about transportation. They all brought their bikes, decorated them  and then had a parade for all the parents in the parking lot. Kylie loves school and does great there. She is learning and comes home excited about her day. She talks a lot about the other kids and who she wants to be friends with. She says she is always trying to sit by someone new and really does her best at trying to remember their name.

Jase is a crazy little boy. He loves to be outside he loves to have his shoes on. We're counting down the days until we can retire his sandles because those babies STINK.  He thinks it's funny when we point out his stinky feet and cracks up anytime we give him a hard time about it.  He is into everything!! I swear, way more then Kylie ever was. Today he sprayed air freshener all over my kitchen cabinets and floor, he pulled all the trash bags out of the box and threw them into the garbage, he pulled all of Kylie's books off her shelf and he pumped shampoo all over the rug in the bathroom. He's usually off doing his next dirt trick while I'm cleaning up the last.
I was upstairs for a few minutes when I started hearing loud clinking and crashing so I run downstairs and find that he has managed to open the dishwasher (which I know I had locked shut) and was putting the silverware away for me. He know the right drawer and was pretty proud of himself. The only problem was he was licking every single one of them as he threw them in the drawer.

What an awesome helper he is!

Life really is good around here. Jeremy has been crazy busy with some huge projects at work and I swear we haven't seem him for days.  We're excited for conference. Kylie can't wait to see President Monson on TV. She prays every night that he will be "healthful and strong." I am excited for inspiring words and a relaxing weekend!
