Kylie's Sidebar Quotes

There is no doubt that Kylie has a lot to say and most of the time it's really funny (at least to us)!! Which has led to my left sidebar getting a bit out of hand so I ahve just copied and pasted them into a post so I can have these quotes forever. I read through them all again today and they still make me laugh. I am so glad I have these written down and I am excited to see what she comes up with next!

9/17/2009 I was driving Kylie to school this morning and there was a red truck in front of us going at a snail's pace. It was so frustrating. I hadn't said anything out loud about, but all the sudden out of nowhere Kylie says in a very concerned tone, "Mom I want to go to preschool!" I said, "I know, that is where we are going." She then says, "Well, this red car won't get out of our way!"

9/16/2009 As Kylie, Jase and I were at Cosco just browsing at the Christmas toy we walked passed a whole row of boy bikes. I asked Kylie if she wanted a bike for Christmas (she better because we already got her one) She said, "Ya, but not one of these boy bikes. I want a bike with STYLE!"

9/13/2009 Kylie has recently started unrolling the toilet paper when she goes into use the bathroom. Jeremy said to her today, "Kylie, quit unrolling the toilet paper all over the bathroom floor, I am sick of seeing it." Kylie said, "Well, I will just close the door then."

9/7/2009 I went into the bathroom and busted Kylie for drinking the bath water. After I told her not to drink it she looked at me and asked, "Why do you need to be in here?" In other words she was wondering why I was in there and implying that I needed to leave so she could go back to doing what she wanted. Why is she so smart?

9/1/2009 Kylie says to me, "Mmm I smell like yummy lotion." then she smells me and says, "And you smell like DIRT!"

8/31/2009 During lunch today Kylie put down her fork and starting eating off the plate with only her mouth. She said, "Jesus likes it when I do this." I told her that I don't think Jesus likes it when we have bad manners. She said, "Well, Jesus is laughing at me!" I said, "I bet he is."

8/30/2009 Kylie and I were looking at a paper she had colored at nursery. I was asking what all the picture were on there. I get to a picture of the scriptures and she says, "Those are scriptbishers." She speaks so clearly that when she says something like it cracks me up.

8/24/2009 While I was doing Kylie's hair she stuck her feet in my sink and said, "My feet are thirsty. They need some agua."

8/22/2009 Kylie and I were in the car and I turned right on a red light. Kylie yells from the backseat "Mom, the light was RED!" I had to then try and explain to her that is was OK for me to turn right on a red light if its safe. It didn't go over well. She was pretty concerned.

8/19/2009 I was doing a haircut and I asked Kylie if she would run upstairs and get the squirt bottle out of my bathroom. She says to me, "I can't, my ice cream will go SOGGY."

8/18/2009 My dad and Kylie were in the car going to the store. Kylie was in the back seat talking and she told my dad, "Red means stop, green means go and yellow means slow down!" My dad says, "Very good Kylie. Where did you learn that?" She replies, "Oh, I learned it when I was YOUR age!"

8/16/2009 Kylie came up and asked me if she could watch, "The Forest of the Movie Book" really she meant "The Jungle Book!"

8/6/2009 We were eating in a noise restaurant and faintly in the background you could here a song playing from The Fray. During the chorus they sing over and over again "Don't let me go, don't let me go" All the sudden Kylie yells "DON'T LET ME GO, MOM!" I was so surprised because I could barely make out the song and I was sure she wouldn't have been able to.

8/6/2009 Kylie informed me today, "Mom, you are NOT in charge!"* Instead of saying the word "FOR" Kylie says "FER" and it cracks me up. She will ask, "What's this fer, mom?" or "What are doing that fer"

8/4/2009 This morning while we were playing Kylie's Princess Memory game and she points to her pile of matches and says, " This pile needs to be huge when we're done!"8/2/2009Kylie came up to me and said, "I have a plan, you sit down and scratch my back." Then she whispers to herself, "Ya, that's a good idea."

8/1/2009 As I was putting Kylie down for a nap she says to me, "You need to do the laundry while I take a nap."

6/18/2009 Also on our way home Kylie was looking up at the clouds. She points to one and says, "Look a mommy fish."

6/17/2009 Kylie said to my sister Amanda, "I'll be the mommy and you be the SWEETIE." Meaning she was going to be the little kid.

*Anytime Jase smiles and gets excited to see Kylie, she says, "He likes me! He really really likes me!"

I always tell her as soon as the boys sit down, meaning the boys passing the sacrament. I told her that today when she asked and she looked over to the bench where all the deacons where sitting and said, "Mom, the boys are sitting down."

5/2/2009 I was in Kylie's room folding her clothes and asked her to get dressed. She gathered up her clothes and said, "I need to get dressed in the closet. I don't want you to see me naked!"

4/26/2009 On the back of the Crunch Berry cereal box there is a colorful picture Kylie likes to look at. 4/14/2009 We were at the drive through at the bank and there is a little screen and when the person inside the bank needed to talk to you they will appear. Well, the guy asked me a question and Kylie thought it was so cool that he would appear and I could talk to him. So she yells from the back seat, "BOY, BOY, come back boy." When he didn't reappear to talk to her she said, "Oh mom, I just needed some moneys." Poor Kylie.

2/16/2009 Today Kylie said, "I know spanish, mom." I asked, "Wow, what words do you know?" She said, "Uno, dos." I asked her if she knew what they meant. She said, "three, four, five." At least she knows they are numbers.

Vegas & Kylie's Preschool Parade

The Dyers invited us to Vegas this weekend. Curtis was able to swing a couple free rooms which always makes getting away a little more enjoyable. We left Friday after work, stopped in Mesquite for some $4.99 prime rib and continued the rest of the way south. We got there just after dark and Kylie was mesmerized by all the lights as we drove to our hotel. We strapped all the kids into strollers and headed out to find the G rated entertainment. This picture is blurry, but this is what we looked like going down the street. As you can imagine we got quite a few stares from people walking passed us. To be honest though, that city is absolutely filthy and rather disgusting and I would just assume stand out a little bit then fit in to that crowd! We did manage however to find some fun things for the kids to see.

First we stopped at, really I don't know which hotel it was, and watched the water fountain show. For some reason it made Kylie a little nervous, but Jase watched intently and I thought it was pretty cool. Our next stop was the Volcano show a few hotel down. Kylie really liked this one. I had told her about it earlier in the day and she thought it was a fire show and kept asking me to buy marshmallow because she wanted to eat them with the fire. She didn't quite get it at first.

These few things may not seem like much, but after fighting crowds with a double-wide stroller, the heat and a time change we were pretty tuckered out at this point. It was time to head back to our rooms and Boston and Jase sum up just about how we were all feeling.

Our rooms were nice with a pretty cool view and we even managed to find the perfect spot for Jase to sleep.

We were up bright and early the next the day to hit the attractions the kids were really excited about. First was the M&M Factory. Kylie had been talking about EATING the giant M&M all morning, but got totally freaked out when she saw the M&M character outside greeting people. She wouldn't step foot outside to stroller for even a picture with him. She thought the factory was really fun and Jase even sat nice on my lap for the movie. We also tried to see the lions (or maybe they were tigers or maybe both) at the MGM, but that turned into a bust when they wouldn't come out and play. We also attempted the NY NY roller coaster, but decided that was too expensive. Next was the Coke store, which once again Kylie just about had a heart attack when she saw the polar bear in there taking pictures. She insisted we leave the store. We were able to talk her out of it as long as we promised not to take her anywhere near that bear. After lunch we had to say good-bye so Kylie could be back to be in her parade. We had a good time in Vegas. It was fun to get away for the weekend and show the kids some of the things a remember seeing as a kid. Its definitely not a place I want to visit real often, but we did manage to find some really fun things do!

We got back to St. George in time for Kylie to meet up with her preschool to participate in the Dixie Lions Round-up Parade before the rodeo. The parade was really long and super hot, but it was so fun to see Kylie when their float finally made their way to us. She was sitting on a trailer in her shirt waving and throwing candy. She was really nervous at first about us leaving her for some reason, but I think she got into it and loved it by the end!! I was telling Jeremy how weird it was that we had to be back because Kylie had somewhere to be. We have started a whole new phase of run our kids around to where they need to be. Jeremy just said, "You better get used to it." We had a fun busy weekend!!

Jase's First Word

Jase has uttered his very first word. It was pretty much like pulling teeth to get him to say it for the camera, but I was finally able to capture it. If you want to know what the word is you have to watch the video! Enjoy!!

Summer Goes on

Apparently we can't get enough of summer and the crazy heat because it just continues to blaze around here. The kids still beg to swim so our friends the Dyer's pulled out their blow-up swimming pool for the first time this summer and the kids went crazy. They didn't seem to mind the temperature of the hose water one bit!!

Poor Jase just sat on the sidelines and watched. This party was way to wild for him to join. He would have surely been clobbered!

Ta-Dah!

I guess I spoke too soon when I said I was going to have a crawler before I had a sitter. Jase is officially a sitting boy. It was weird how he just all the sudden got it and I think he really enjoys looking at the world this way.

My favorite part about it is it makes bath time so much easier now that I can bathe them both at the same time!

Kylie's Big Day

Yesterday was the first day of Preschool for Kylie, and there couldn't be more excitement around our house! She had been waiting and wanting to go to for, I swear 3 years now. This day couldn't come fast enough. Jeremy gave her a nice little blessing the night before to start the school year which she of course thought was really special. I took her into her class and she confidently walked right in and sat down next to the other kids. She was ready for all of this. The only thing that disappoints her a little bit is that she doesn't get to ride a bus. She really wants to do that! I think we may live to close to her other schools also that she may never get to ride one, but we will have to see.

I also have been really excited for her. I knew she would really want to go and I knew she would love it. I certainly didn't expect to break down as I circled around the parking lot to leave and saw her just sitting there watching the other kids and looking around at everything. I cried all the way home. As cliche as it is I can't believe this day came. I can't believe I have a preschooler and weirdest thing is that Kylie now has an important place she needs to be every other day.

I picked her up a couple hours later and found her with a huge smile on her face. They gave her a cute little bag to use as a backpack, but she was most excited about the gummy bears she received. All in all I think it was a success and she is going to have a great year!!

Later on during the day we decided to head up to Cedar City to see my dad and brother who had come into town so my dad could take my grandma to a doctor appointment. Kylie looked like this the whole way up...She was zonked from waking up so early.

We spent the day hang out with my sister Amanda and my brother Adam while waiting for my dad and grandma to get done. Then we went to dinner and hung out a little while after at my grandma's house. One of Kylie's favorite things to do with her is play the piano. My grandma has a fun childens book with songs and it might actually be enjoyable for the rest of us if Kylie didn't feel the need to play right along with her! But really who cares, Kylie loves it and my grandma is patient enough to sing and play with her.

Jase just had a good time coming along for the ride and never ceases to amaze everyone by his growth and development.

I'm in Trouble

Between his amazing rolling abilities and figuring out he can scoot pretty well on his knees this boy gets around!!! He hasn't quite got the hang of "crawling," but I don't think he thinks he needs to because this is serving him just fine for now. The funny thing is he still can't sit very well by himself for too long. I always thought sitting came first, but we all know Jase does things his own way and it wouldn't surpurse me if crawling came first. He's too curious to just sit around anyway.

I Love These Guys!

I don't think I say it enough, but I LOVE my little family!!! I am so grateful for them and the happiness they bring me.
