My Buddy & Me

Kylie LOVES her brother. It has taken her some time, but she has really come around and most of the time can't get enough of him. She really likes talking to him in her "baby voice," give him his binky, feed him, hold him, throw his diapers away and much to my dismay picking him up and attempt to bring him to me. She also loves to lay down next to him and cuddle him. Every time she does it she says, "Mom, take our picture."

This picture was taken on Kylie's bed. I set him down for a minute and left the room. Kylie comes running out a few minutes later saying, "Mom, Mom, Jase was just talking to me. I showed him how to talk." I asked what he said and she said, "He said, (she starts talking in her baby voice) Mommy, Mommy, I really want to go to the park and play with my friends and ride my bik." Then after she says, "He's such a good Buddy" That's her nickname for him.

I hope they grow up and are always really great friends!

Don't Quit Your Day Job, Kylie!

Kylie has a new hobby, actually I shouldn't call it new because she has been obsessed for a long time, but she loves cameras. She drops whatever she is doing and poses when I ask to take her picture. She always wants to look at the picture after on the camera and she also loves to take pictures. Yesterday I was in the bathroom doing my hair and Kylie brings in her Barbies and Tinkerbell doll and decides she wants to take their picture. She gets them all situated where she wants them on my toilet no less, making sure they can all be seen and it was very important they all have their shoes on. It took her a few tries, but she got one she liked in the end.

After taking the picture she would look at it on the camera and if it was like this one of the next one she would say, "Oh, that was bad one!" One time she got frustrated with the Barbies and said, "GRRR, just be good Barbies!"

The picture for a frame.

Is This a Bad Idea?

Kylie was eating an apple and I thought Jase might like a taste so I bit off the peel and let him suck on it. He LOVED it. He sucked on it for a quite awhile before he realized it wasn't feeling him up and he got frustrated. As I was letting him do it I was wondering if it was a bad idea. I couldn't really think of why it would be so I just let him enjoy it.

Like Grandpa Like Granddaughter

Kylie has officially earned her first set of scraped up knees. This has been pretty traumatic for her today. It happened yesterday when she was running outside. She didn't want anything to do with a Band aid and as soon as I cleaned her up she was ready to go again. But for some reason today she thinks they are so much worse. She has been walking around hunched over insisting I do most everything for her. When she came into my room this morning and said, "Mom they didn't come off." and then again in the bath she said, "Mom, they aren't coming off." She doesn't quite get that her skin is scraped. I think she thinks that the scrapes were going to wipe off.

She come walking downstairs using this as a crutch and said, "I have two broken legs like my grandpa" I think she secretly feel honored to have a "broken leg" like grandpa because she has brought it up several times and wants me to acknowledge it quite often. Poor girl! Get well soon, Kylie!

The River

Last night for we'll call it Family Home Evening we went and played in a river that our friends the Dyers had found the night before. It was a fun little river that was pretty shallow and the current wasn't real strong. It took Kylie a little bit to get used to it, but when she finally did she loved it. It was pretty warm still outside and that made the water temperature just about right.
I had a hard time seeing the pictures on my camera because of the glare from the sun on the water. I thought I was taking a nice picture of Jeremy and Kylie walking down the river hand in hand, but when I got home and looked at them I realized Jeremy had this nice scowl on his face. So much for my nice picture.

Kylie preferred the shallow non-slimy parts of the river when she wasn't hang on to anybody.

But she also thought it was fun to be out into the current as long as her dad held onto her.

The water took some getting used to for Jase also. He freaked out the first time I stuck his feet it, but got used to after a second and didn't mind it.
Jeremy tried his hand at skipping rocks. He is actually really good at it and skipped a few clear across the river and they landed in the dirt on the other side.
A Monday night is never complete at our house without a smoothie, so after we had our fun playing in the water we went for a treat. We are very glad the Dyers are our friends because they seem to know where all the fun is, and we are glad we found one more place to cool off just as summer is starting to hit us down here!

Happy Birthday Jeremy!

Yesterday was Jeremy's 29th birthday. I can't believe he is almost 30! We have quickly learned that birthdays are all about the kids even when its not THEIRS. Like I've said before Kylie loves birthdays and she was so excited to celebrate Jeremy's.

Kylie's celebrating started the night before when we made Jeremy's cake and decorated the house. She was so excited for him to see "our party" the next morning.

We decided to spend the day soaking up the sun at the Kite Festival with our friends the Dyers. The weather was perfect except for the lack of wind that was needed for flying kites. Kylie asked us all the way there for a kite, a PINK kite. No other color would be acceptable. We spent our time jumping in bounce houses, sliding down huge slides, riding trains, and face painting. Kylie loved her purple flower and was upset when it was time to wash it off for church. She loved the bounce houses, but would not go down the slides by herself.

Poor Jase spent his time in the stroller. He didn't seem to mind and was pretty content being out and about with the rest of us.

After we had done all that there was to do at the festival we headed over to Pirate Island Pizza for lunch. The play area and arcade games seemed to occupy most of our time including Jeremy's so much that we had to talk him into coming back to the table so they could sing him a birthday song. Kylie worked really hard (so did Jeremy...OK so did I) to earn as many tickets as possible with our coins. Eighty-five tickets later we were walking out of there with 6 tootsie rolls and a pink dinosaur that grows when you put it in water.

Kylie insisted we make Jeremy a BLUE cake, she was so proud of it. Our singing skills aren't amazing, but we got the job done and had a good time. This is as creative as I get with the cake decorating...my poor family!

We ended the day back at the festival for a short fireworks show. Kylie had been looking forward to them all day and was not disappointed. It was fun to be out in the warmth, spending time with good friends and celebrating Jeremy's birthday.

Jase's Blessing

Sunday was Jase's blessing. I have been really excited for this day. Jeremy did a great job on his blessing and Jase looked pretty dang cute in his outfit.

I was nervous it wouldn't fit but it was perfect and I loved his fuzzy blue socks also.

Kylie loves her brother and she loved that we had an occasion to have all of her grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousins here.

I didn't get very many pictures and none of them were that great. It was kind of crazy and I just didn't get a chance. I feel bad I didn't get any with Jase's grandparents and the rest of the family.

We had a little dinner after church. I really appreciate everyone who came. Everybody had to travel from somewhere far and it was so nice to have them here to celebrate with us.

Too bad this is what he did the whole time. The poor guy missed his own party.

Kylie wanted to show off her cute Easter dress. I am so thankful for a husband who holds the priesthood and can bless our children and for family support and especially for a healthy little boy and the chance to celebrate his birth.

Easter Weekend

We had a good time this weekend. All my family except my brother Austin came up for Jase's blessing and it was fun to celebrate Easter while they were here. I love Easter time and everything it means. I am so grateful for my Savior and the sacrifices he has made in my behalf.

Growing up the Eater Bunny always came to our house on Saturday so we could have fun with all the gifts on that day and then on Sunday we could focus more on the Savior. SO this is what Kylie found Saturday morning. The Easter Bunny left some fun things for Kylie and Jase.

He also hid some eggs for Kylie to find around the house.

We went to "breakfast with Grandpa" at the Egg & I and then we checked out the Wildlife Museum. It was a pretty cool place. They had a lot of neat animals from all over the world.

I thought Kylie might be afraid of the animals, but she actually really liked them and climb right up on this bear.

She gave this Hyena a hug and tried to make a mean face like his.

Jase just hung out in the stroller and was happy sucking his fingers.

We also toured the Brigham Young house in St. George and the Tabernacle. It was so much fun having everyone here. I loved having everyone crammed in my little house with air mattresses everywhere. We played games, enjoyed each others company and had a good time.

4 Months Old

I feel like Jase has been a newborn for SO long, but recently he has really started showing his little personality more. He smiles quite a bit and most of the time pretty content just laying on the floor making funny noises while looking around at us. He is getting better at sleeping for longer periods of time at night and I am hoping we can pull out his 0-3 months clothes really soon. I am just hoping he will still fit into his blessing outfit this weekend. That boy doesn't miss a meal. I take him to the Dr. for his last Synargis shot tomorrow and I am anxious to see how much he weighs. Kylie has grown quite fond of him and can't wait until he can play her prince. She constantly tries to pick him up and is great at soothing him when necessary by saying things like, "I know, I know, just a minute buddy, it will be OK." in her baby voice. They are great kids and I am grateful to have them.

Party in Mom's Bathroom

Kylie's little imagination runs wild constantly. She is always coming up with something new. She loves to dress up in her princess dresses and have parties. Birthday parties are her favorite. She just loves birthdays in general. She doesn't care who's they are, she just loves them. Her big thing is "making" the cake. The other day I taught her if she stacks up a bunch of book and lays a little blanket over them and then sets her doll's bottles on top for candles she has a beautiful cake.

Today she got some ribbon and strung it across the cupboards, her wings for decorations, her cake and her princess dress out and wanted to have a party. I guess she couldn't find her baby bottles she she used a doll chair for the candles.

She brought me this ribbon and said, "Can you make it so all my dreams come true?" She got it from the Cinderella movie. Cinderella ties her hair back with a ribbon and then later in the movie all her dreams come true not necessarily because of the ribbon, but Kylie new she hair would look beautiful like this.

She is so funny and most of the time a good little girl. She is a great big sister and makes us very happy!

Conference Weekend

I love General Conference. I am so grateful to be a member of the church. I worry so much about the world and the direction its heading and I feel like there are so many things out there against us. It's just so reassuring to hear the prophet and other leaders talk about how confident they are that we can over come these things and stand strong against them. I love our leaders and I am so grateful for modern prophets that know and understand what we face and can give us the counsel we need. As cliche as it sounds I really do walk away just feeling renewed and feeling like I can face Satan and the horrible things of the world that may come our way.

Jeremy took Kylie, Jase and I out for ice cream after the priesthood session. He said Kylie and I are only invited 23 more times and then its just the boys after that!

Night Out

For my birthday Jeremy got us tickets to the Julianne Hough concert at Tuacahn. I am not extremely familiar with her songs, but we went last night and it was really fun. I love Tuacahn! I think it is beautiful there and it's so fun to be outside. Once we got there I was nervous it was going to be cold when the sun went down, but it actually wasn't too bad. While we were waiting for the show to start they told everyone to text their seat numbers to them and they would pick one of the seats and you would win tickets to their three shows this summer. We text them our seats and Jeremy won!! Their shows this year are Annie, Footloose and Aida.

We took about 14 pictures of ourselves and this was the best we could come up with...sad!!

This was the band before the opening band. I can't remember their names, but they are local. I just like the backdrop!

Concert pictures never really turn out all that great.

It was so nice to get out and have a date. I really appreciate my friend Marissa for coming over to watch our kids for us. It was really fun to get out for a night without the kids! (By the way, it's still weird to say "kids" rather than just Kylie)
