Pucker Up

Jase is the best little kisser I know! And he's pretty willing to give them up upon request. Actually most of the time we don't even have to ask, he puckers up and goes in for the kill all on his own. And the best part of all is he usually ends a kissing session with a "Lu you." He is full of energy, but super sweet at the same time and personally, I just can't get enough!

I mean, come on who doesn't want to kiss that?

The Cabin Up Cedar Mountain

Somewhere up Cedar Mountain there is a "cabin" that Jeremy's mom's family owns complete with it's own outhouse and fresh water spring. Its the perfect place to get away, enjoy nature, the cool breeze and have some fun as a family.

It's not very often we can all get together with everyone's busy schedules and Jeremy's brother Zane and his wife Olivia and their baby Adella living up in Provo so we try to take advantage of these times as much as we can.

Jeremy carved our names in this tree back when we were first married and then since he has carved Kylie and Jase's names also. Don't mind that the 2008 should really say 2003. Jeremy carved the 3 backwards and then tried to fix it...Didn't work out so well.

Jeremy's brother has a fun little 4-wheeler that is just the right size for all the kids and they loved riding it.

I mentioned that there was natural fresh spring water running up there. We all know Jase can't resist running water so of course he loved it.

And Kylie thought it was pretty neat to drink from it just like a drinking fountain.

Jase clearly enjoyed himself. There is nothing better then being outside for him, getting dirty, climbing on things and playing in the water.

Anytime we go up there Jeremy lets Kylie get out and ride the gates as we open them. He also lets her ride in the front seat with him and "drive." She thinks thats a blast!

We love having so close and the kids sure do love their cousins. We always have a good time when we get together and it's times like these we will always remember.

Jase's Morning Ritual

Jase is a funny kid that likes a routine. There are several things throughout the day that he likes done a certain way. One of those things is his morning ritual.

When I go in to get him in the morning I always turn off his lamp and open his blinds then usually we play peek-a-boo for a second through the rails on his crib. Once I pull him out he insists on finding the two binkies he slept with (which are usually on the floor). Most of the time one has fallen back behind his bed and so once he has one of them and can't find the other he knows he needs to look back there.
So he makes me pull his bed out and he climbs back behind it to retrieve that last binki. Once he has crawled back out and I put the bed back...

He'll  then say, "Basket, basket" and I have to get that basket down from the dresser and he will throw the binkies in there for the day.  Then he will proceed to lay down on the floor so I can change his diaper. This is something that must take place every single day and is repeated after naps also.  He is very good about putting the binks up for the day, but I know it will be a nightmare when we try to take them away at night, and I'm just not ready for that yet. So until then, I am sure he will continue to make sure he has each and every bink accounted for every time he wakes up!

If These Legs...

aren't a the sign of a fun summer full of outside play, running around, riding bikes, and playing with friends, then I don't know what is!
P.S. She's got an elbow to match those knees too.

Just For Fun

After I took Kylie's picture on her first day of school I was comparing how much she has changed in the last year and I couldn't believe it. She has definitely grown out of any baby-ness and turning into a beauitful little girl.

It's no secret that Jase has changed in the last year! We couldn't be more grateful at how much he has grown and how healthy he is.

Even in the last 9 months they have changed a ton. The top picture was taken last December and the bottom was about a month ago.   I think this is my justification for taking so many pictures. I love watching them grow and develop and seeing how they have changed.  One thing's for sure and will never change though, they are cutest kids I know!

Dixie Rock

Yesterday we took the kids on a nice leisurely hike up Dixie Rock  It's pretty much right in the center in St. George and when you get to the top you see amazing views of the whole city.  We sat at the top and had a picnic and then got as close to the edge as I would allow and looked out over the city. Kylie pointed out several places around town including the temple, the tabernacle and the D on the mountain.  Jase loved toddling around, and he wasn't as brave as I thought he would be. (which I was grateful for) He mostly stuck close to one of us. There were several "caves" to stop and see on the way up and down and Kylie thought "the red mountain was so beautiful." The weather was a little warm, but we had a nice breeze and it was fun to spend some time out and enjoy the beauty that is so close to us.

Look at This Face...

Does it look like the face of the naughty kid in Nursery? Well, it is! He's the kids that eats the play-do and the crayons, and climbs up on the table and the big chairs, and has learned how to open the doors and wants to escape, and won't sit nice and read a book or sing a song, and he fights with the other kids over toys and will not share, and throws his snacks all over the floor!! Oh, and he's the kid that laid on his back on the floor and kicked and screamed his way around the room until I finally took him out and Jeremy took him home!! (Which is what he wanted in the first place...remember, he kept trying to escape.) Then, when the little turkey was headed down the hall in Jeremy's arms and he looks back at me with a big smile on his face and waved, "Bye" as happy as could be!  He wears me out!!! And obviously he's got some lessons to learn which clearly need to be learned quickly if we're going to keep up this nursery gig!

He's Ready

Jase does his best these days to try to keep up with the crowd of big kids around here. Sometimes when mom isn't very nice and won't let him go outside he will stand on the window seat in the front room and yell through the window, "Guys...guys...guys?" Poor kid. The other day he was playing out in the garage and found Kylie's helmet. He put it on the best he could and then tried his hardest to climb on her bike. His new phrase every time we go in the garage is, "Go ride bikes" Like I've mentioned before he is willing to ride just about anything and lately he's really been into Kylie's bikes and her 4-wheeler. I think it may be time to ditch all this pink and purple stuff and go for something a lit more manly. It's a good thing his birthday is in a few months or maybe we'll have to make sure Santa knows what's up!
