Crazy Weather

We have had some unusual, but very welcomed weather this week. It first started on Saturday when we got a pretty nice rain storm. I swear it never rains and if it does it only rains in the middle of the night so it was so fun when it actually rained during the day. It of course started while we were out running errands and Kylie was so funny. She acted like she had never seen it before. She was terrified to run out to the car in it and even more concerned that the car was getting wet. She kept trying to dry off the windows with a feather duster she found in the back on the car.
We got home and Kylie saw all the neighbor kids out playing and then she thought that maybe the rain wasn't so bad and she could go out and play too. Jase just hung out in the stroller and watched it from our garage. (P.S. I can not get him to smile for the camera. All he does is open his mouth the whole time I have the camera in his face.)

Then on Monday we were told it was ONLY suppose to be 90*. We had to take advantage so we headed to the park with our friends. Lets be honest it was still pretty hot, but actually bearable in the shade.

I put Jase in the swings for the first time and he loved it. He wasn't scared for a second. He legs were kicking like crazy and I think I may have heard a giggle or two. I usually can't get much of a laugh out of the boy, but he seemed to really be enjoying himself.

Where's Jase?

Oh, there he is!

Jase has got the rolling thing mastered! He gets everywhere and when I am not paying attention that sometimes means under beds, under entertainment centers and under couches.

Go Bold or Go Home...

Or in my case, I'm talking about my home! I mentioned that my parents have been here, so we decided to get crazy with the painting. What was suppose to be a little painting party for Kylie and Jase's room turned into a 2 day painting extravaganza of the kitchen, the archway and a few other random walls. I had a few stressful moments where I thought we were completely crazy and I wasn't sure about the colors, but in the end I think it turned out great. My parents were so awesome. They totally took on the project and made it a fairly easy process. My mom is great at picking colors and for a guy who hates to paint my dad sure was great and stuck right with us!
I definitely love paint! I think it completely changes the look, the feel and the warmth of a house. It makes it so cozy. I never ever thought I would be a brave as I was in picking these colors and every once in a while I look at the kitchen and wonder if I can handle that much yellow/gold. The best part about it, it's easy to change if I decide.
I wish the coloring was better in these pictures so you could really get the feel for the color. I don't feel like its quite this lemony. Its more of a gold color. I love the way it makes my cabinets and counter tops look. Its one bright, warm, HAPPY kitchen, that's for sure!!

I love, love, love this green. I think it looks awesome along this archway and with the wood of my banister.
This is a tan color we did on a wall in the family room, living room, Jase's room and this is in my hall and around my bedroom door.

We also took the yellow/gold and painted a wall in the loft making it warm and cheery up there too.

Kylie's Most Exciting Day

Kylie (along with the rest of us, of course) always benefit when grandparents come to town and this time wasn't any different. Grandma and Grandpa Hansen and Aunt Amanda came to visit before they take Amanda up to school in a few days and we have had a great time with them.

The other night while Kylie was giving Grandpa a tour of our neighborhood Grandpa was feeling bad because all she had to ride was her little purple tricycle while all the other kids had their big cool bike and battery powered cars so the next day he took her to the store and bought her one of these...

She was so excited!! She was a little bit nervous at first trying to get the hang of it, but it didn't take long and now she cruises. Grandpa even hooked-up the turbo speed and that girl flys down the street going 5 miles an hour!!
This wasn't all that made the day exciting she also got her much anticipated PINK room! She has been dying for this. She couldn't wait for Grandma to get here because she promised her she would help paint her room.

We still have all the decorating to do, but the color turned out so cute and I think if she hadn't just got back from buying the 4-wheeler with Grandpa she would have been more excited about it too!

And to top it all off Jeremy, Kylie and I went to Kylie's little back-to-school night for her new preschool. She has been talking about going to school forever can't wait for it to start in a few weeks! I think going to her school and seeing it made it even more exciting for her and made it more real for her! Needless to say it was one great day for this little girl!!

Your Place or Mine

Of all the places to play in our house these two choose Jase's crib to spend most of their Sunday afternoons.

Crash & Burn

One of my favorite things about living here is our new nightly ritual of hanging out with the neighbors while the kids run the street. There are bikes and kid cars and roller skates everywhere, the temperautre is perfect and the company isn't too bad either. Lastnight as we were enjoying ourselves we hear a crash and Kylie start to cry. It looks like she had face planted it on the road. She was riding another little girls bike and crashed. As Jeremy and I are walking over to her, I can see that she is holding her mouth. My stomach jumps. Mouth, teeth and gum injury make me really nervous. I was afraid she had knocked out a tooth. Luckily just the inside of her lip was a little bit bloody, road rash below her nose and an instant fat lip. After we got her cleaned up the first thing she wanted to do was look in mirror and then she immediately headed back out and jumped right back on the bike. No love lost there!! She took it like a champ.

For some reason I think a fat lip is so cute on little kids! (Not enough to give a kid one myself of course!)

Happy 8 Months Jase

Jase turned 8 months on 8/8...cool huh? We thought since it was such a special day we would splurge and get the boy a bedroom. The poor kid hasn't had a room to call his own yet and we finally got it all set up today. We put him in his crib threw him a few toys and he LOVED it!! He was so content to just roll around, eat his toys and enjoy all that space.

I feel like this boy has changed immensely the last couple of weeks. He's so much happier then he used to be, more willing to just lay and hang out. I'm not sure if its because he can get a round just a little bit by rolling over or what, but it sure makes me happy. He loves his hands whether he is eating them or using them to grab things, but he has found them to be very useful these days. He sleeps really well during the day, but nights are still a struggle. He continues to wake up at least twice some times 3 times a night looking for something to eat. We're thinking that has got to hopefully end soon!! He is very engaging and fun to talk to. He's cute little face lights up with a smile anytime anyone pays attention to him. I think even his sister would agree that we just couldn't live without him!!

Hallelujah

I'm Back!!! I FINALLY have internet service. I couldn't be more happy about life right now. I have learned that there are a few things that are very frustrating about being in a brand new developing neighborhood. The first being that your address is yet to be found in any body's "systems" including the Post Office and 911!! (Not that we have had to use it, we have just been told) On more than one occasion Jeremy or I have fought with people as they have told us our address doesn't exist and surely we must have it wrong!! It doesn't really help our case when there is another house in St. George with the exact same address as ours only switched, so their house number is our street number and their street number is our house number. It was also frustrating when an internet salesmen came walking the neighborhood selling their internet service which we thought would be a really great deal and we decided to sign up for it only to find out after two service calls missed, about a million phone calls and three weeks later they don't even offer internet in our area yet. (We're also going to chalk up that whole experience to horrible customer service!) Other then these minor things we really like it out here. All of our neighbors have moved in and Kylie couldn't be more excited to have finally have Taylor living right across the street.
