Under Contract

I am not going to jump the gun this time and say we SOLD our house but, we just signed a purchase contract with a couple that want to buy it. YAY!! It's a little nerve racking because we have been here before, but I feel REALLY good about it this time. I couldn't be happier about who we are selling to. It just feels right. Of course I thought through this whole process that I would sell to anyone, but when I met these people and I saw how much they liked our house and how excited they are about it it made me so excited to sell it to them. This is their first little home and they will take such good care of it and love it as much as we have.
Once again I know Heavenly Father was watching out for us and he really does have our best intrests in mind. He know what will make us the happiest and he will do whatever it takes to make it happen. I am so grateful to have that guidance, direction and support. This is all working out better that expected and I know this is what's meant to be.

Word of The Day

This isn't a repeat. I am going to do periodic installments of this until she stops saying new funny things, which may be never, or when she is a teenager and it's just a whole bunch of back talk. I have one new funny word, and two phrases she always says, one of which can turn her into a little liar sometimes!
The first word is "whoopies" I wish you could here her say it because it makes it ten times cuter, but she is trying to say whoopsies. (I'm really not sure how to spell that) and it comes out whoopies without the s. She says this whenever something goes wrong like if she spills something or she can't get her socks on or just for any little accidents. It's pretty funny.
Her first new little phrase she has started to say is "I not" Instead of saying no she says "I not". I will ask her do to something or to quit doing something and she will turn to me in a stern voice and say "I not!" I ask her to give me a hug and she turns away and says, "I not" This has turned her into a liar a couple of times. One time she was standing on the bed swinging a pictures that was hanging on the wall and I asked her to stop swinging the picture and she turned to me and said "I not Mommy!" Again, having me just explaining these doesn't do nearly the justice they deserve, but hopefully if you know her and you know her little personally you can picture her saying these things and it's funny.
The next phrase she has picked up on and she says quite often is "Thank ya much." She is good about saying this when you give her something or help her. She has caught on pretty well at knowing when is the right time to say it. It's funny how just three little words will cause you to do ANYTHING for her especially when she is so dang cute.

These are her little pig tales we tried out yesterday for church. They were really cute. I think this is Jeremy's favorite Kylie hairdo. I really shouldn't underestimate what her little hair can do! By the way, she can now open the fridge, grrrr! Salt is really good on top of cake and ice cream. She decided to try it out at Grandma and Grandpa Felix's last night and ate way more of it than I would have. MMM good! And the bread and water (especially the water) takes WAY to long to get to us during the sacrament just ask a 21 month old when she can't have your snacks until after.

Not A Baby Anymore

Well, we have hit another milestone in Kylie's little life. Jeremy took down her crib today and he set up her new "big bed." We thought we would have to really talk up this new bed thing and act really excited about it so she would think it was neat, but really she couldn't careless. She was more than willing to help take the crib down and set up her new one. I think we have kind of been holding out on this one because we didn't have a reason to move her out of it, but I think she was ready for it. She has actually been spending a lot of nights sleeping in our guest room bed, so I guess it was time.
She has spent most of the day just camp out on it. I looked in there once and she was sprawled out with her hands behind her head looking perfectly relaxed. We could be in for a really treat though, when its actually time to STAY in her bed! Hopefully it goes well.

Is This A Problem??

So the other morning Kylie and I go downstairs to eat breakfast and usually I give her a couple of cereal options or she can have oatmeal. Well, this morning she was having none of it, so I open the fridge and she says, "pickles, pickles" and then she points to the orange juice. This was all she wanted. What am I suppose to do? It was either starve or eat pickles and OJ for breakfast. (I put the plate of Tootie Frooties on her tray to make me feel like a better mother since they are "breakfast" foods) I have always had a hard time knowing whether or not she is getting all the nutrients she needs. Its hard making sure she is getting all the vitamins and fats and calcium and everything else. She used to be really a pretty good eater, but it seems lately she has become kind of picky. Sometimes I think its better that she just eats something rather that nothing. All I know is she's growing out of her clothes and seems to have plenty of energy so it can't been all that bad, right?

Word of the Day

I have decided that Kylie says some really funny things. She has turned into quite the little talker. I have had other people tell me that she is really chatty. She loves to say hi to people and especially bye-bye to people. Its guaranteed she will say it everytime we leave somewhere. She says it to the chashier at the store, she yells it to my sister-in-law when we go to pick her up, she even said it to someone I just waved at from a distance at Wal-Mart. It always gets a good laugh out of people.

Anyway, she has come up with some pretty funny words for a 21 month old lately and since I am the worst mother in the whole world for writing things down and I am feeling pretty bad about it. I thought I would at least write these down because they always make us laugh.

A couple months ago we were at my parents house and I was getting things packed up and she was in "helping" me and she picked up my ipod and said "mommy iPOD" I don't know where in the world she learned that word. We had never talked to her about it. She just picked it up from listening to us menton it. In fact just this morning she asked me "Where did the IPOD go?"

Her new favorite game is hide-and-go-seek, and she is really good at it. She takes her turn counting and then loves to hide also. When she counts she puts her hands over her opened eyes and says "1,2,3 I coming" and she comes looking. Well, the other day I was playing with her and I was hiding in the closet and she same around the corner and finds me and she says "howdy." That made me laugh really hard. Where did she learn howdy? We certainly don't ever say that. She definately picked that up somewhere else.

The last most recent funny things she says, well actually she has said this for quite a while but she ALWAYS says "bless you" when you sneeze.

Its really amazing how these little brains pick up on everything around them. It keeps us on our toes. We have to be so careful what we say and we also have to be so careful what the TV says or what people she is exposed to are saying.

This is just a random funny picture of her. I was sitting on the cedar chest at the end of my bed and she same up and tapped me on the shoulder and I turned around to find her pants on her head. She did that all by herself.

Happy Birthday DADDY!

Today is my daddy's birthday and he's turning 28. (That sounds really old to me!)
I want everyone to know I have the best dad in the whole entire world! I am so grateful he works so hard for us so mom can stay home and take care of me and he is very patient and fun to play with too. Sometimes he tries to teach me new funny words and wants me do weird things that make people laugh , but if it wasn't for him I wouldn't be as cute as I am; Not only in my funny personality, but I have his best features too. He is also very nice to my mom. He always does nice things for her. Sometimes I think he hogs her though. I don't really like it when they hug too much or sit to close to each other, but I am glad he loves her and I know she really loves him to. Thank you dad for all you do and I hope you have a really great birthday because you deserve it. I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH!! (Even though most of the time I act like I like mom WAY more...its not true, I like you too!)

This is what my dad looked like at my age. I have a couple pictures with that very same expression on my face and I look just like him.

Thanks dad for all you put up with!!

You're the best!!

IRON GIRL with a SMILE

Today was a GREAT day!! We had the opportunity to go to Las Vegas and support my mom in an Iron Girl triathlon. It was one of the coolest things to see. I have never attended a triathlon. I have only imagine what they were like and seen snippets of them on T.V., but to see the whole process is really amazing.

I am so proud (I know your not suppose to me proud, but...) of my mom. I have learned so much from watching her prepare for this event. She decided to go for this at the first of year, so she knew she had about 3 1/2 months to prepare. When my mom prepares for something she REALLY prepares for something. She bought books, read everything she could on the Internet, received e-mails getting tips, went to classes, bought a wet suit and a new bike and then not to mention trained like crazy!! Another thing I learned is that if you give 110% to whatever you put your mind to it can be accomplished. My mom is truly amazing not just for completing this because I knew that was definitely possible from her, but she took on something that she had never done before, faced her fears and accomplished it with a huge smile on her face!

The BEFORE picture

Ashley had shirts made for all of us to wear, and they were a hit! Everyone loved them. Participates as they were running or riding would yell to us, "We love Penny! You're the best cheering squad we have ever seen!" And they didn't even know us. We had a great time cheering people on as they passed us.

All the friends she had been training with and got her into this situation.

The first event was the swim.

My mom is the one in the green cap! Each age group when out in waves, this was my mom's.

And it all begins!

My mom is the one on the outside with the big smile on her face.

Swimming complete! She said if she could just get through the swimming she wasn't too worried about the rest!

Biking was next.

I think biking was her favorite. She did great. Those hills she went up were definitely thigh burners!

Running was last. We had the funnest time then cheering people on while waiting for her to pass us.

She ran a total of three miles and most of that was in the desert.

She's finished!!! YAY! Coming across the finish line, I am sure was triumphant.

Our HERO! Ending with a smile

The AFTER picture

My mom said when my littlest sister is 20 she wants all the girls to compete in the triathlon. All I have to say is I am so glad I have 7 years to train!

It looks like all her friends survived and did great also. They got the results a little while later and my mom had the best time out of all her 'older' friends.

She says she doesn't know what she'll think about now. This has been all consuming for a long time.

Of course, nothing great is complete with out a good fireworks display at the end.

We all went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and some guy that works there came up and sang her a song. It was so funny. It was to the tune of 'New York New York' and he sang all about her completing a triathlon I am sure he made it up as he went, it was really good...I wish we would have got it on camera.

Kylie was her biggest fan!!

Mission Accomplished

I would dare say that I have one POTTY TRAINED little girl!! After a patience-trying couple of days we have another full-time potty user at our house. After talking to a bunch of friends, running upon some really good advice and with her vested interest it made the process not too bad. She does great at night and we even took a quick trip to St. George without incident. YAY! for no more diapers. Now lets all just hope she doesn't ever revert back to her old ways.

Happy Birthday to ME

Today is my 25th birthday. I can't believe I am really that old. When I was younger and I thought of a 25 year old they were done with school, married, living in their own house with 3 kids. I guess I am most of that except I don't have that many kids yet. Life is pretty great right now, I don't think I would want to be anywhere else right now.
As I think about the last 25 years my life has been filled with great memories of growing up, the best brothers and sisters, family vacations, wonderful loving parents, good friends, priceless spiritual experiences, the perfect wedding day to the most amazing husband, a beautiful daughter and a life I wouldn't want to trade with anyone... Bring on the next 25 years!!
