We had a busy easter weekend full of egg hunts, parties, a family get together, easter egg dying, jelly beans and the easter bunny.
Kylie had Friday off from school so we spent some of the day coloring easter eggs. They LOVE doing this. To them there is something magical about coloring eggs and it gets funner and funner every year. This year we dyed them with Kool-aid, which was super easy and smelled really good. I wish I would have boiled more eggs because we weren't even close to being finished when we ran out of eggs.
Friday night was the start of our Easter Egg Hunt Marathon. The first one was with all the kids in our neighborhood, which has definitely grown over the last little while! We certainly don't lack in the kid department and it makes things like this really fun for everyone.
They know exactly what to do and came away with plenty of the goods.
Saturday morning came early with the anticipation of what the Easter Bunny brought. The kids made off pretty good and seemed to be happy with their loot.
Kylie was most excited about her new "high heels" and her hula hoop. She's been dying for high heels for a really long time and it only took her a matter of a few tries to master that hula hoop. Jase has been on a Toy Story kick lately and currently Buzz is his favorite charater. He was also pretty thrilled with his green scooter too.
A little while later we headed to a Primary party at the Beehive home. This is where Easter Egg Hunt # 2 took place along with other games and activities. Kylie seemed to enjoy what was going on more than Jase. He mostly just hung out next to me while Kylie played the games. They both loved the hunt though and Kylie couldn't believe she actually found a real egg.
Later that afternoon the Felix family came down and spent some time with us. We had a great time hiking,
and Grandma and Grandpa Felix treated us to a few rides on the carousel we have downtown. The kids had a blast. We then came back to our house for a BBQ
and Easter Egg Hunt #3. Kylie and Jase can't get enough of their cousins. They absolutely love when we have the chance to see them. Spending the afternoon and evening with them made for a really great time.
Sunday was a chance for us to reflect on our Savior and the blessing of knowing the sacrifice made in our behalf. I had the chance to teach the Easter lesson in Young Women's and although I am not sure I was really able to express exactly how I feel about the Atonement and Resurrection to those girls I sure am so grateful for the chance to really study and reflect on it these last few weeks.
I am so grateful for my amazing little family!! I love them more than anything in the world and I am so blessed they are mine. I love weekends like these full of memories and good times and a chance to really focus on the improtant things in life.
