Kylie's Preschool Graduation & Carnival

Monday night was Kylie's Preschool Graduation. She had asked me everyday for weeks if that day was graduation because she was so excited about it.

She has grown up quite a bit this last year and really come out of her shell. She's a lot more confident and loved standing up in front of everybody singing her songs. She was dancing around, over-exaggerating all of the hand motions and having a blast. It was so fun to watch her have such a good time.
At the end of the program each student was given an award and Kylie was awarded Valedictorian. She was given several little gifts from her teachers; her favorite being a metal and a bracelet. She was also so excited to see that her dad brought her a bouquet of flowers to congratulate her.

Kylie has worked very hard this year! She has done awesome with her reading and passed everything  off during her evaluation.  She is super excited about Kindergarten and I know she is more than ready.

Grandma and Grandpa Felix came down to see her which she thought was really special. We went to dinner after and she told our waitress all about her graduation and the medal she had on around her neck. She was pretty proud!

The next day her teachers put together a carnival to celebrate.
She ate lunch, played games, and won more prizes. It started pouring rain on us by the end, but it was a fun way for her to end it all.

Kylie really loved preschool! She was always excited to go and always tried her very best. I think she'll miss it along with her teachers, but really she can hardly wait to head off to Kindergarten!

Diggin'

We've slowly (very, very slowly) started to work on our yard the last little while. We've (ok, when I say we I really mean Jeremy) built and planted a garden and have sorta mapped where we want things to be. We really don't have much of a clue how to garden that's why we're starting out small, but if we don't kill these plants off we have plans to make it bigger later on. Kylie and Jase are very intrigued by the whole thing. They love to water it and search for any new growth. We've had a few things start to sprout which makes us excited and gives us a little hope.

Jase loves to be outside and he has loved being out with Jeremy helping.  He tells me several times a day that he wants to go outside and dig.  He doesn't move too much dirt at a time, but it's just enough to make him happy. Jeremy wished he really could dig an actual hole (or trench) because our dirt is rock hard and it's going to take some serious muscle (or some kind of machine) to dig for the sprinklers.  We've got a long process ahead of us, but hopefully we can work on it slowly and someday have a nice back yard to enjoy.

Thank You, Loft

One of my most favorite things about my house is our loft. It's upstairs. It's a big area with a good sized closet and a computer nook. When I first saw the floor plan for our house I knew it was would be the perfect playroom. We could keep all the toys in the closet and keep the messes upstairs and for the most part that's exactly what it does. It enables me to keep the downstairs picked-up and kids have a great place to play.

And I couldn't be more grateful for it because if this mess was all throughout my house I just might go crazy!!

Happy Mother's Day

I am eternally grateful that I have the privilege of having these two amazing kids call me mom! There is nothing better in this world. I am so grateful for their example of unconditional love and kindness, forgiveness and understand. I hope they always know just how much I love them!! They have given me the greatest blessing and that is motherhood!!

I am also very grateful for my own mother and the amazing example she is to me. She is most absolutely one of the wisest people I know.  If I could just take a page out of her book and be half the person she is I would be doing pretty dang good!!  I am also grateful for my Jeremy's mom and her love and concern for us. She is extremely thoughtful and I couldn't ask for a better mother-in-law.

I am thankful for days like today when we can reflect on the most important things in life. I am truly grateful for my eternal family and opportunities it blesses me with.

We've Broken Out the Suits

Temperature are rising pretty quickly around these parts so we thought we would head to the river on Main with some friends today. It was a perfect day because it wasn't too hot and the water wasn't really too cold and of course the kids loved it.
Kylie insisted that the river warranted her need for her goggles. I'm not so sure I agree! She mostly just looked silly running around in them. I am so grateful Jase can walk this year. It wasn't very fun last year taking him to places like this because he wanted to go with the other kids, but he just couldn't. I think Jase would agree that walking was one of the best things he has learned to do so far! :)

Of course, if you ask Jase playing in the water would not be complete without being sprayed in the face several times and loving it. I still don't understand why, but ever since Jase was really little he has loved running water and there is nothing better then a good face spray. On the other hand it used to take all I had to get Kylie to play in a splash pad, but I think she's over coming her fear and actually really enjoys them.  A day like today makes me really excited for the summer.  St. George is full of fun places to play or swim and if it has to a million degrees out then these are the places we want to be!
