I have learned to really love fall. It means we finally get a break from scorching temperatures. In the past it always meant freezing temperature and snow was on the way, which is a nice change, but in my old age I am really enjoy snowless winters. Today was decided that if we wanted a chance to enjoy the fall leaves we better go because they are just about gone. We usually head up to Cedar Canyon and I forget it is probably the most colorful at the end of September or the first of October.
We first stopped at Jeremy's family cabin. There isn't a whole lot up there except for a little cabin, an outhouse, a clear water stream and a tree with our names carved in it. This was Kylie's first time up there and Jeremy was excited to show it to her. She wanted to spend the night in the cabin and have a fire and roast marshmallows. We told maybe we could come back and do it another time (the marshmallow part...not the sleeping there part!!!)
The only spot we were able to find any sort of color was off the side of road up Right Hand Canyon. I guess we learned our lesson and next year we will get up there sooner. It's hard to remember it's fall up there when it's still very summery down here!
